Chelsea’s Striking Shortlist For 2024
Chelsea have targeted Napoli striker Victor Oshimen along with Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Brighton starlet Evan Ferguson as their top striker targets for next summer. It is a badly kept secret that Chelsea would like to bring in a proven goal scorer into their young set up and these 3 strikers are the ones that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has said are the ones they need to push for. According to Sky Sports News and the Daily Mail, Chelsea are long standing admirers of Victor Oshimen and would be keen on bringing him to Stamford Bridge, with it looking more and more likely like he will depart Naples at the end of this season, especially with the recent TikTok fiasco that was pulled by Napoli’s social media team. It is said that an offer of over £100 million would be the sum that Chelsea would have to fork up in order to even begin negotiations with Napoli but as we have seen in the past 18 months, money is not an issue for Chelsea. They have also made a formal approach for Ivan Toney and begun to ask Brentford what it would take in order to buy him from the Bees. It is rumoured according to Fabrizio Romano that Brentford will listen to offers for Toney as early as January for around 60 to 70 million, Arsenal have also asked for the details of the transfer sum and are likely to approach Brentford in the January transfer window as well. The final striking target for Chelsea is Irish striker Evan Ferguson who has made a blistering start to his Brighton career and has impressed the likes of Manchester United, who made a £50 million bid for the striker in the summer which was promptly turned down. Whilst Evan Ferguson is not seen as the priority target for Chelsea they are big admirers of the young player and are keen to see how he gets on this season.
